Karimbas are also known as a Mbira or ‘finger piano’ as the keys are plucked with the fingers or the thumb. They originated in Zimbabwe and were popular with the Shona people when settling in Mozambique. We have a wooden Karimba made from Sono wood and a choice of coconut Karimbas where the sound amplifies the 7 notes suspended above.
